I.T.E Trust was established in 1990 in Lahore for Technical & Vocational Education Diploma & Certification Courses by late Dr. S.M. Jafar (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) to spread Technical Education in the masses. A technical training centre was established earlier for three and six months vocational courses in 1984. The centre then turned into Pak Polytechnic Institute that offered three year diploma programme affiliated with Punjab Board of Technical Education, Lahore.

 

Dr. Jafar believed that it is the need of time to develop skills of youth in technical education to equip them with ability to earn their livelihood either by mean of job or by making them self employed. He was approached numerous times by financially deprived and needy student for getting jobs and it was almost impossible, to get all of them jobs due to their low qualifications and being unskilled segment. Considering the need and importance of Technical Education and Job Market depression he decided to establish a Technical Training Centre. Beside this he believed that Technical Education, according to the need of industry, is the back bone of our country’s progress. His aim was to provide free or low cost technical education to the deserving students.

 

The campus is a huge complex consisting of four floors with around One hundred & Fifty rooms consisting of Class rooms, Laboratories, Workshops, Libraries, Auditoriums, Administrative offices & Staff Rooms. Pak Polytechnic Institute holds distinctive ranking among the Technical Education Colleges in the province of Punjab. Five disciplines of Technology are offered for studies, which are, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, and Computer Information Technology. Apart from this Virtual University Associated Campus (PLHR-02) is established on campus for Training and Examination purposes.

 

After the sad demise of Dr. S. M. Jafar, his wife continued the mission of her late husband and now actively involved in operations of the Institute as well of the Trust. The Institute generate funds from Tuition Fee from student and from donations by other charitable organizations like Rotary Club of Pakistan and individuals from different fields of life.

 

The faculty of the Institution working under I.T.E Trust is qualified, experienced, and they try to bring to life the vision of late Dr. S.M Jafar. We salute Dr. Jafar for establishing such a marvellous Technical Education Institution for youth of our country.
